Burdon racing towards Asian Formula Renault crown

Australian Josh Burdon will be looking to wrap up the 2016 Asian Formula Renault Championship for BlackArts Racing when the Series heads to Zhuhai International Circuit for the final two races of the season this weekend, 28-30th October 2016.

The 23 year old from Hobart is currently leading the Series by 29 points, and with a maximum of 60 points available this weekend, Burdon can win the Series on Saturday by simply finishing ahead of his closest rival, but is focused on recording more race wins.

"I'm pretty psyched up," said Burdon, "it is not often you get the chance to be in the lead heading into the final round of an international championship".

"It's a decent buffer, but I still plan to be pushing hard to that final chequered flag, and I want to finish off the year in the best way possible, with more wins on what has become my home track".

Burdon moved to Zhuhai at the start of the year, and, with just two races remaining, he has added another five race wins to his international record, which boasts over 50% of race wins across 3 continents.

"It's been a long year, moving to base myself in China and starting from scratch, with one focus of winning the series," said Burdon, "it has been a lot different to places I have previously been based, like Europe and America, but it has been a lot of fun."

The final round of the 2016 Asian Formula Renault will hit the Zhuhai International Circuit in China for Official Practice on Friday, with qualifying and race one on Saturday before the final race of the year on Sunday.

" I have full focus on repaying some faith to Bill, Thomas, Leo, Rich, all of the BlackArts racing team & my supporters by continuing our winning ways and hopefully walking away with some nice silverware."
