MSA British Drag Racing Championship
Round 2: Santa Pod Raceway, 26-29 May

After two sunny qualifying days, rain curtailed Monday’s eliminations after round two.

Ten-time FIA Pro Stock champion Jimmy Ålund qualified on pole in his first Pro Mod outing for 15 years and was one of four Continental racers to reach the aborted semi-final. The home challenge ended in round two, but not before Bobby Wallace and Kevin Slyfield had distinguished themselves with career-best performances and gallant losses. Slyfield threw away a sure win with a red-light disqualification. A resurgent Wayne Nicholson also made a rare visit to the second round.
