BMW Pirtek Racing’s Andrew Jordan will look to bounce back from the disappointment of Snetterton when the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship heads for Knockhill this weekend for the seventh round of the year.

Andrew was on course for his third win of the season in the final race in Norfolk two weeks ago before an electrical issue on the penultimate lap saw victory cruelly taken from his grasp.

As a result of that, Andrew heads to Scotland sitting seventh in the championship standings, with hopes high that the 28-year-old will be able to move forwards into the top six during the weekend ahead.

The tight and twisty circuit overlooking the Firth of Forth has been a happy hunting ground for Andrew in the past, with a podium finish in his debut season and a race victory en-route to the championship title back in 2013.

It’s also a circuit where his WSR-run BMW 125i M Sport has been one of the cars to beat in recent seasons, with four wins and nearly a dozen podiums since debuting in the series four years ago.

Those facts leave Andrew in confident mood, with podium finishes being the aim at least in rounds 19, 20 and 21 of the campaign.

“Snetterton showed that my focus on consistently picking up points has paid off, although luck obviously wasn't on our side in race three,” he said. “I did everything I could have done to score three very strong results there, and my focus is to try and make sure I do the same this weekend in Scotland.

“Knockhill is a track where the BMW has always performed well in the past and it’s a circuit that really suits my driving style as well. Particularly with the ballast we carry into qualifying, I’m hoping that we can get ourselves near the sharp end of the grid and then challenge for a big points haul and some trophies come Sunday.”

After qualifying on Saturday 12 August at 16.10, the first of Knockhill’s three BTCC races will be at 11.50 on Sunday morning, with race two at 14.17 and race three completing the race weekend action at 17.12.
