Round 1: Golden Springs Car Trial (Woolbridge Motor Club), 25 March

Neil Mackay won the rearranged Golden Springs Trial ahead of 31 national and clubman competitors. 

Mackay took first honours in his aging Citroen AX to lead the ballasted front-wheel-drive class all day. He didn’t relinquish during the afternoon despite Shawn Franklin’s best efforts.

Barrie Parker held onto the rear-wheel-drive class to beat Dick Glossop by a single point. Franklin had to settle for fourth overall and second in class. Trevor Moffatt won the new car class and finished fifth overall.
