Vernasca Silver Flag Hill Climb

Vernasca Silver Flag Hill Climb

Famous French racing cars are to be this year’s theme at the famous Vernasca Silver Flag Hill Climb in Italy, run by the Club Piacentino Automotoveicoli di’Epoca.

It is the 23rd edition of the famous run and over three hundred cars will take part in the event, which runs from Friday June 29th to Sunday July 1st.

The event will open with a classic track day on Friday June 29th at the Riccardo Paletti circuit and is open to all hill climb participants who wish to try out their cars before the two-day hill event.

The hill climb itself will take the usual format with two runs between Castell'Arquato and Vernasca on the Saturday followed by a gala dinner at Castell’Arquato and one run on the Sunday, which will be followed by the prize giving lunch at Vernasca.

“As always once this year’s French theme had been decided students at the local art college were asked to take part in a competition with the winner’s artwork being used for our posters, programmes and advertising,” said hill climb organizer Claudio Casali.

“It was a tough competition with dozens of students taking part but in the end it was won by 19 year old Lambri Eugenio who attends the Bruno Cassinari Artistic School in Piacenza with a great image of a Bugatti that really sets the scene for this year’s theme.”

He added: “There are still a few places left. If you would like to participate please contact the club.”
