Jeffrey Herlings and 2017 Champion Antonio Cairoli headed into the Trentino round tied on points, however it was the Dutchman who proved victorious, coming away with a 10-point lead in the standings. Cairoli endured a challenging weekend on home soil, but will be keen to bounce back in only the second MXGP of Portugal; at the Agueda circuit he claimed the round-win at last season.

Best bits from FIA WRC’s visit to Corsica
The FIA World Rally Championship’s fourth event of 2018 saw competitors head to the picturesque island of Corsica. You can catch all the highlights in Motorsport.tv’s Best Of show.

ELMS underway at Paul Ricard and Supercars highlights from Tasmania
A 45-strong field of prototypes and GT cars will take the start of the 2018 European Le Mans Series season, which gets underway at Paul Ricard. In the top LMP2 class, 19 cars will do battle as G-Drive Racing aim to regain their crown. LMP3 sees 14 Ligier JS P3s battle with a quartet of Norma M30s, while GTE will see a four v four battle between Ferrari and Porsche, over four hours of racing.

After climbing back to the top of the standings in Melbourne, reigning Australian Supercars champion Jamie Whincup looked to extend his advantage on the island of Tasmania. After not finishing off the podium at Albert Park, Whincup’s closest rivals heading to Symmons Plains Raceway were Scott McLaughlin and David Reynolds, but would either of them be able to overhaul the veteran?
