Brabham BT62 prepares to break cover

INFUSED WITH BRABHAM’S WINNING DNA

With less than a week to go until Brabham Automotive unveils its much-anticipated first car, the company has revealed more about the car’s character.

Brabham Automotive is preparing to open a new chapter in the story of one of the most celebrated and evocative names in motor racing history. With its eagerly-awaited global debut due to take place in London on Wednesday 2 May, the new BT62 honours Brabham’s enduring legacy and sets a precedent for the future as the marque enters an exciting new era.

Capable of setting blistering lap times and infused with Brabham’s winning DNA, the BT62 has been built to a very simple brief: to reward its driver like no other.

Drawing on more than three decades of experience as a racing driver, David Brabham has worked hand-in-hand with his engineering and technical team to hone the character of the BT62, resulting in a car that is truly worthy of carrying his iconic family name.

Speaking ahead of the reveal, multiple Le Mans winner and Managing Director of Brabham Automotive said, “Having driven, raced and won in a host of world-class cars during my 35-year racing career, I knew exactly what I wanted from the BT62. A car like this should inspire, challenge and reward its driver in equal measures, and I’m delighted with what we have achieved.”

With the BT62 developed and tested in complete secrecy prior to launch, Brabham Automotive has chosen to defy convention, breaking cover in February of this year to embark on an unprecedented seventy-day countdown to the reveal of its first car. Celebrating seventy years since Sir Jack Brabham made his competition debut in 1948, the company has charted seventy of Brabham’s most memorable moments, which combine on its website as testament to the remarkable achievements of one of motor racing’s most iconic names.

In recognition of this watershed year, production of the BT62 will be limited to just seventy cars, with first deliveries expected later this year. Priced at £1m plus local taxes, and before options, deposits for these exclusive cars are now being taken, and those wishing to be considered for a build slot are advised to register their interest via the Brabham Automotive website, www.brabhamautomotive.com.

The new Brabham BT62 will be unveiled at 7pm GMT (8pm BST) on Wednesday 2 May, 2018, and the public is invited to track the build-up to reveal by following @brabhamauto on Twitter and Instagram.
