The Porsche Cayman GT4 Trophy Thailand, which is part of the Thailand Super Series, concludes this weekend at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram.

Five Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport entries head to the 4.554 km circuit with the championship all but sealed for AAS Motorsport’s #9 driver Kmik Karnasuta, who holds a 40-point lead over his nearest rival, which is the maximum points return for this weekend.

His closest competitor is JWD Est Cola Racing Team’s Charvanin Bunditkitsada, who has two non-finishes to his name from the series’ last visit to Buriram. On board the #2 Porsche, he can still claim the championship this weekend, but only if Karnasuta fails to score and he wins both races.

Third in the drivers’ standings is Tosaphol Phamyai, who sits just two points behind Bunditkitsada. The #14 Morseng Racing Team driver finished second on his last visit to Chang and will hope for similar here, with one eye on his rivals behind.

AAS Motorsport’s #46 driver Pasu Liptapanlop is also in with a shot of that runner-up spot in the standings and will take confidence from his four podiums in five finishes so far this year.

Completing the Porsche Cayman GT4 Trophy Thailand line-up this weekend is #8 Racing Spirit Thailand’s Sontaya Kunplome, who will look to bounce back with a strong result after sitting out both races last time out.

Six other Porsche customer entries are also in action in the various Thailand Super Series GTM and GTC categories.

In the GTM Plus class, B-Quik Racing Team returns with a Porsche 911 GT3 R (Type 997) for Henk J. Kiks and Peter Kox, who showed strong pace on their last outing together in Bangsaen.

Porsche is also the most represented manufacturer in the GTM Pro-Am field, with B-Quik Racing Team fielding the #72 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Type 991) for championship leader Alif Hamdan, who holds a 16.5 point lead over second place. The squad is also running the #11 car for Will Bamber and Jeffrey Chiang, as they look to help B-Quick claim the teams’ title.

Unixx – TR Motorsport Racing Team are running the #29 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Type 991) car for Thomas Raldorf and Franz Engstler, with the former sitting second in the drivers’ standings. The est Cola PTT Racing Team will field Tanart and Munkong Sathienthirakul in the #15 machine, as they aim to emulate their podium here earlier this year.

Finally, contesting alongside the Porsche Cayman GT4 Trophy Thailand is the GTC category, with Australia’s Ian Geekie driving the #18 B-Quik Racing Team Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Type 997) once again.
