AFRICA ECO RACE Stage 4

The temperature was 23 degrees on the finish line in Fort Jackal, a locality situated about thirty kilometers north of Laayoune, Morocco. Race conditions that are ideal in southern Morocco, as is the case since the beginning of the AFRICA ECO RACE 2019. Also, since the first stage of this 11th edition, navigation in the spotlight which, despite the precision of the road book underlined by all participants, was a headache to some competitors.

BOTTURI: 2 / ULLEVALSTER 2 motorcycle
After the victory of Pal Anders Ullevalseter today ahead of Alessandro BOTTURI, the score is equal between the Norwegian and Italian KTM and Yamaha on the number of specials won after the first four stages, but the ranking is not reflected in points, by the clock Alessandro BOTTURI still leads the rally with 5'08'' ahead of ULLEVALSETER. Very little in terms of what lies ahead on the road to Dakar. Behind these two the battle is on for the podium. AGAZZI Simone, until today faultless, had a small mechanical problem on his Honda and lost the final thirty minutes and finished 10th in the stage, threatened by the Martin BENKO 4th behind Norwegian Felix JENSEN, 3rd 23'18 '' behind the winner. 5th place went to Philip CAVELIUS who beat his Guillaume VIDAL, a newcomer on the AFRICA ECO RACE. 


Who will stop the LAURE / CRESPO 
This is the question that everyone is now asking. The OPTIMUS No. 211, has for the fourth consecutive retained the race lead.  Dominique LAURE and Christophe Crespo won their 4th special 1'27'' ahead of David and Pascal GERARD DELACOUR,  In 3rd Jean Pierre and François Strugo Borsotto on the Team MD Rallye Sport Official OPTIMUS.  Yves Fromont and Paul Vidal placed their TAREK in 4th position of the special, ahead of Jean-Noël Julien and Rabha who were victims of a navigation error that cost about thirty minutes. Uneventful day for Aleksandr and Sergey Kuprianov, 5th time cars. 

3rd victory for Igor Bouwens in truck
The IVECO of Igor Bouwens tooke the victory in trucks, Tomas TOMECEK, was 8th quickest and 2nd in this category ahead of the MAN of Elisabete JACINTO José MARQUES and Marco Cochinho by a little over 15 minutes.


Today, the final stage of this Moroccan week to Daklha and a special 420 km followed by a 214 km link. Nearly 640 km before a well deserved rest day on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean
