Clement Novalak completes Carlin’s British F3 squad

Carlin has confirmed that Clement Novalak will complete the team’s BRDC British F3 Championship line-up for the upcoming 2019 season. The British driver raced with Carlin in selected rounds of the series last season, but will return to British F3 for a full-time assault this time around.

Gearing up for his second season in single-seaters, Novalak already has a great amount of experience under his belt following a strong karting career. The 18-year-old raced with Carlin in the BRDC British F3 Championship during the 2018 season as part of a dual campaign which also saw him compete in the Formula Renault 2.0 Championship. Prior to this, the British racer made his way to New Zealand where he clinched two victories, four podiums and three fastest laps in the Toyota Racing Series NZ.

In his first British F3 campaign, Novalak made an instant impression with pole position on his debut weekend at Oulton Park, as well as three strong fourth-place finishes at Oulton Park, Rockingham and Silverstone.

Preparing for his series return, Novalak has been back in action with the Carlin team during pre-season testing and will return to the cockpit of his Tatuus-Cosworth car  today as he takes part in the Championship’s Media Day at Donington Park.

Novalak commented: “I’m pleased to be back with the team and taking on a full season assault in the BRDC British F3 Championship. There are so many races that I’m looking forward to but mostly I just want to get back racing again! Testing with the team so far has been going really well, I think we’ve made great progress too so I can’t wait to get started on what should be a great year for us.”

Team Principal Trevor Carlin added: “We are thrilled to welcome Clement back to the team for another season. We worked together during a part-campaign last year and it was clear to see that he had a lot more to give so it’s fantastic that he’ll get the opportunity at a full season with us in the BRDC British F3 Championship. He fits in brilliantly with the team so I have no doubts that we can enjoy a good season together fighting at the sharp end.”
