2-Seaters, Off-Roaders, Sports and Hot Hatches at CCA auction on 25th May

Mark 1 British classics, a Land Rover Series 1 and a Frogeye Sprite
Sporty French hot hatch, the legendary Renault 5 GT Turbo

Classic Car Auctions have for sale at their forthcoming auction on the 25th May an assortment of classics and moderns with two-seaters, off-roaders, sports cars and hot hatches all going under the hammer at the Warwickshire Event Centre.

Among the 151 lots being offered is a stylish Bertone styled and Ferrari powered 1968 Fiat Dino. Sourced 13 years ago by the current vendor in France and now UK registered, this is a well-maintained car. It comes with a wealth of invoices and related documents with a recent clean MOT. This Fiat Dino is a car that is rising in popularity and with an indicated 30,000km, is being offered for £25,000 to £30,000.

Everyone loves a Land Rover and the Series 1 is such an off-roading icon. This 1951 80 inch second generation is one of the most desirable. Presented in traditional Bronze Green with lights through the grill it was first registered in the Isle of Man as MMN 964 and has been maintained rather than restored, although in 2004 it was extensively refurbished. During 2015 and 2016 the Land Rover underwent further refurbishment and updating. Now being offered at an estimated £14,000 to £18,000.

The “Frogeye” is such a cheeky car with a big grin offering some great summer motoring. This 1960 Austin Healey MK1 Frogeye Sprite is very well presented in Cherry Red with cream wheels. Imported into the UK in 2001, it is a left to right-hand drive conversion which has also had some electrical upgrades and been fully fettled from stem to stern in 2017. Purchased by the current vendor in 2016 and an MOT until May 2020 with no advisories is now being offered for an estimated £12,000 to £15,000.

Hot hatches always got the pulse racing as it did with the manufacturers, who were always trying to outdo the other. This 1988 Renault 5 GT Turbo is one such car. A legend from the 80s and in great condition, beautifully presented in Pearl White with a full history file. It has never been restored and has always been maintained to the highest standards. Offered with an estimate of £15,000 to £18,000.

With a number of celebrity cars also being offered from Rowan Atkinson, John Squires of the Stone Roses and cars from Harry Metcalfe of Harrys Garage, there really is a great offering in next week’s auction.

Gary Dunne commented: “The cars highlighted here, really are wonderful classics. The Renault 5 GT Turbo is a cracking car from my youth and the Frogeye is just such a wonderful car loved by everyone.”

“I am expecting a very good sale. We have received a lot of interest and have a superb spread of cars offering something for everyone.”
