Entries open for Trackrod Rally Yorkshire

Entries have opened for the Trackrod Rally Yorkshire (September 27/28) and more than 30 entries have been placed in little more than a week following the publication of the event regulations.

The event organisers are focussed on delivering first class road conditions for all competitors in the famous North Yorkshire forests. Significantly, the event will run historics and all two-wheel drive cars first on the road.

The rally will feature a compact route taking in all single-use stages on gravel roads that are in superb condition following a recent route survey. For the crews contesting two major rally championships, this is the only visit of the season to the classic forest stages in the Dalby and Cropton forest complexes.

As has become tradition, the event will feature two key parts. The Trackrod Historic Cup will run over 56 stage miles in six stages as the final round of the FUCHS Lubricants Motorsport UK British Historic Rally Championship and a round of Northern Historic Rally Championship. The route will include one long stage in the darkness of Friday evening, which will be an ideal pre-Roger Albert Clark Rally warm-up for many crews.

On Saturday, the Trackrod Forest Stages will cover a full 45 miles in five stages as the final round of the Jordan Road Surfacing BTRDA Rally Series and the MAXXIS Motorsport UK English Rally Championship.

Clerk of the Course Rod Parkin, from the organising Trackrod Motor Club, said: “We are very pleased to have opened entries for the 2019 event and the initial response from competitors has been extremely positive. We look forward to receiving many more, both from championship contenders and from those who simply want a chance to tackle some of the UK’s best-loved forest stages. Once again, we will have finishers’ awards for every crew that completes the event.”
