Stunning McLaren Senna wins inaugural Lockton Club Trophy at Salon Privé

The inaugural Lockton Club Trophy at Salon Privé Classic & Supercar on Sunday 8th September was a spectacular success with in excess of 500 cars attending from some of the top Clubs in the UK including Aston Martin Owners' Club, Ferrari Club of Great Britain, Lamborghini Club UK, McLaren Owners' Club UK and Porsche Club of Great Britain. Alongside them, although not part of the competition this year, were Bentley Drivers Club and Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club.

The Lockton Club Trophy at Salon Privé Classic & Supercar attracted a stunning collection of cars with a mixture of modern and classic examples from the premium Clubs for the Club Secretaries and Manufacturers to choose from. Such was the relaxed nature of the event that the only criteria were for them to select their ‘favourite cars on the day’. For Aston Martin, this meant a stunning DB6 Volante and Vanquish S; for Ferrari, a gorgeous Dino 246 GT and 488 GTB; for Lamborghini, a beautiful manual Murcielago along with a rare and immaculate Silhouette; for McLaren, a 675 LT and Senna and finally from Porsche, a classic 911 2.4S and 911 Carrera. Once selected, each car was then invited into Salon Privé on the South Lawn where they formed a display either side of the Judge’s Marquee, beneath the Palace walls. Finally, after much deliberation from the Lockton Performance judging trio of David Hamer, Simon Ambler and Charles Hamilton-Stubber, the Lockton Club Trophy was presented to a stunning McLaren Senna.

Lockton Partner and Head of Private Clients, Rachel Gilliam commented“We were delighted to be part of this great day celebrating so many of our Car Club partners and sharing the day with them. It was spectacular to see so many beautiful and special classic and supercars attending and to see so many clients supporting. Out of the 10 finalists the judges all shortlisted the same 3 cars, with the ultimate decision coming down to what they'd most enjoy driving home that evening - the McLaren Senna.”

With the event set to expand as more Clubs join next year, the Lockton Club Trophy will relocate to the stunning North lawns of Blenheim Palace in order to accommodate the 1,000 plus cars anticipated to attend for the perfect end-of-Summer Club Picnic.

Salon Privé Sales Director & Co-Founder, David Bagley commented“We rounded off the summer in true style with this year’s inaugural Lockton Club Trophy as more than 500 spectacular classic and supercars converged on Blenheim Palace to create a fabulous display. Judging was fun and subjective resulting in the selection of 10 cars that went forward for the Lockton Club Trophy. Moving forward, we plan to develop the event in partnership with Lockton Performance and establish it as the premier ‘End of Season’ event for a select group of premium UK-based Car Clubs.
