2006 Maserati Quattroporte heads CCA line up of No Reserves

Four superb Mercedes-Benzs on offer from an E300 4Matic to the sporty SLK
Two lovely 4.2-litre Jaguars, an XJR Supersport and an XJ6 Series 3 long wheelbase
Buggies, bikes and a 1951 Dennis F12 fire engine offered at No Reserve

Classic Car Auctions’ final sale of the year is almost upon us with 18 fantastic and varied lots being offered at No Reserve in their sale at the Warwickshire Event Centre on Saturday 7th December.

Gary Dunne Classic Car Auctions Manager commented: “We are really looking forward to this sale, our last one of the year, as we have some cracking No Reserve lots on offer. There are some great cars here from BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar and also some slightly more unusual ones in the Buggy and the Dennis fire engine.”

The sale will get underway with the first lot being the star No Reserve offering a 2006 Maserati Quattroporte Exec GT. This was Maserati’s four door luxury offering, with a 4.2 litre V8, Alcantara and leather interior and massaging seats with rear tables. This car comes with a fastidious history file detailing recent expenditures and inspection reports. This is a seriously sporty four-door saloon with the Ferrari inspired F136 family engine and Italian luxury and all at No Reserve.

The second lot off the block is the 1990 Peugeot 205 CTi 1.6 Cabriolet. Now, these hot hatches have done very well in the past and if you want some speedy open-air motoring, then this Peugeot is well worth a look at No Reserve. It scores incredibly well on the condition report scoring 111 out of 135 and is fantastic original condition. The vendor has owned the car for the last 12 years and has maintained it to a very high level. It comes with a great history file and very well presented in Alpine White with the sporty red and grey interior. Grab yourself a pocket rocket for next summer.

Talking of pocket rockets, also on offer is a 1985 Ford Fiesta XR2 again scoring very highly on the condition report. A favourite of the 1980s hot hatch scene which has undergone a bare shell restoration a few years ago with a photographic record in the history file. If you fancy a Japanese sporty number the 1996 Toyota MR2 GT-I 16v with 47,350 miles on the clock could be a great alternative and with only one former keeper. Moving on ten years Lot 510 the 2007 BMW Z4 roadster with 63,000 miles is also a worthy contender for your garage. A superb two-seater convertible in Metallic Silver Grey and a comprehensive history file.

Last week we talked about the selection of Jaguars on offer, well we saved these two for this week as they are offered at No Reserve and what powerful luxurious cars these are. Both with the 4.2-litre engine but Lot 517 is the 2003 V8 Supercharged version of the third generation of the XJ with the all-aluminium body, which is becoming quite desirable. Lot 639 is the 1986 XJ6 with 55,000 miles and in long-wheelbase form and comes from a private collection. This car has recently undergone a full respray and the seats have been re-connolised, now looking very smart in Arctic Blue with Doeskin hide.

We now come to a batch of Mercedes-Benzs, Lot 634 is the 1988 S420 W126 with 63,235 miles. A well-maintained car from four owners and a comprehensive history file. A lovely car finished in Metallic Champagne with a burgundy interior. Lot 640, the smallest of our Mercs is the very desirable 2003 SLK230 with 36,800 miles. A wonderful example of the 2.3-litre supercharged two-seater convertible with two previous keepers. Lot 585 is one of the rarer versions of the Mercedes 300E, with the Carat Duchatelet body kit and in 4WD. Only a few of these four-wheel-drive saloons were made and looks to be a well-cared-for car. Lot 523 is the 1994 C200 Elegance, a smart low ownership car with 67,500 miles and in splendid condition reflecting the excellent maintenance record.

Some of the more unusual offerings in the sale on Saturday is the 1951 Dennis fire engine that once belonged to the Devon Fire Service and used in Torquay. This model is believed to be the only version running in the UK with eight out of 250 made still surviving. Coming with lots of the original equipment and in need of light restoration, this is a great British fire engine from one of the major manufacturers of commercial vehicles. To finish CCA have a rather unusual lot, one suitable for the kids and with Christmas not far away this could be a contender. Lot 562, a Ripstar Coolster Dune Buggy, bought new by the vendor for his son is a novice-friendly 150cc Dune Buggy with a bucket seat and three-point harness. Go on you know you should….

Gary continued: “The fire engine is really unusual and extremely rare but one of the very few in working order, great for a collector. These are some of the cars offered at No Reserve which gives a great opportunity for both vendors and buyers. The Maserati really is the stand-out car here.”
