It was a star studded occassion at Tuesday's British Photography Awards held at London's Savoy in Central London.  The BPA is a responsible competition aimed at celebrating photographic talent from all British and British-based photographers. They work with a range of UK charities to operate a non-profit competition cashflow which is completely ring-fenced from the rest of the business finance. This is integral to the model.

Over 90% of the entry fee goes to a charity, the rest is allocated for card processing fees and applicable VAT. Nobody profits off this revenue. At the end of the cycle all cashflow is made publicly available via a Competition Report and sent to the Fundraising Regulator.

The Competition
The awards accepts a broad range of work from different disciplines and from all over the world. It is independently judged by some of the most respected names in British photography.  The awards offerings this year included Fashion, Events, Architecture and Fine Art categories.
