Moorespeed, Riley Dickinson Win Second-Straight Atlanta IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup USA

Flag-to-Flag Victory from Pole Third Career Win at Road Atlanta for Dickinson in No. 53 Moorespeed Porsche 911 GT3 Cup

Picking up where they left off six weeks ago, Riley Dickinson and Moorespeed scored a convincing victory in the No. 53 Moorespeed Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Friday morning in the opening round of this weekend's IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup USA by Yokohama tripleheader at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

Dickinson opened up to a more than four-second lead in the first half of the race and successfully defended the top spot through two late restarts for a 0.435 second margin of victory.

The flag-to-flag run from the pole was the second-straight victory at Road Atlanta for Moorespeed and Dickinson following a win six weeks ago in the first appearance of the season for the IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup series on the 2.54-mile Georgia circuit.

The strong performance in the opening race gave Dickinson the pole for Friday afternoon's second 45-minute sprint of the day, but some issues early resulted in a second-place finish for the No. 53.

"We won this morning, we had a good race this afternoon," said Moorespeed President David Moore. "We didn't have the result that we wanted, but that doesn't mean we're going to give up. We found a couple of issues. We lost half of our front splitter early in the race due to another issue that I won't go into. Riley drove very well with what we had and didn't give up."

Dickinson earned his first career win last October at Road Atlanta and will be looking for another victory in Saturday's third and final race of this weekend's tripleheader at 10 a.m. EDT. The race can be viewed live on www.IMSA.tv.

"On paper, results wise, it was a pretty solid day for us," Dickinson said. "We got the win this morning and a podium position and second place this afternoon, but we definitely want more. We've been working pretty hard lately to push for that extra step, and I feel like tomorrow morning we're going to have a good shot at it, just like any other race. I can't thank the Moorespeed guys enough for all their help and effort these past few weeks. We're going to push hard tomorrow morning."
