Shelsley Walsh Autojumble on Saturday 15 May

15 May 2021

Here at Shelsley Walsh, we are delighted to announce our first ‘Autojumble’. It’s been a difficult year for all of us with limited running last year and it’s important that we take the Club and the Hill in a commercial direction that will guarantee that motorsport can continue here for future generations. Mind you, ‘The Hill’ has survived two World Wars, Spanish Flu, the Great Depression, at least six recessions and some increasingly unusual climatic events, so I expect it will dust off a mere Global Pandemic in short order.

On Saturday, May the 15th we are looking forward to seeing the Paddock Garages packed full of spares, old parts, tools and brightly coloured ephemera as well as further trade/private stands on the main field providing restoration advice, speciality engineering services, automobilia, prints, paintings, books, collectables and more.

A dedicated area will be set aside for anyone wishing to sell their classic car or motorcycle. There will also be an opportunity to advertise the vehicle on our website pre-event and I can’t think of a better location to shake hands (hopefully) on your next classic with a view down the valley in the May sunshine. (Full details elsewhere on the website).

Shelsley has always been known for being family-friendly and, naturally, on May the 15th there will be a variety of food and drinks available throughout the day from our Courtyard Restaurant, coffee outlets, speciality food trucks and the Courtyard Bar.

Facilities will be available to traders who would like to set up on Friday evening or anyone keen to bag a bargain first thing on Saturday morning. (Once again, full details are on the website).

Unique is a word frequently misused and, if there is more than one of anything, it’s no longer unique. Shelsley is one of the oldest motorsport venues in the world and the oldest to have been staged continuously on its original course so, by definition, no other ‘Autojumble’ anywhere else in the world has been held at a venue with such motorsport longevity. In fact, the venue will undoubtedly pre-date even the oldest items for sale by a few years, ‘unique’ in the proper sense of the word.

This is a great opportunity to find that missing part you have been seeking for years, sell your car or motorcycle, meet old friends, have some lunch and enjoy the garden party atmosphere that we seem to be able to create so well here. It’s only a few months away and hopefully, we can all get back to the business of enjoying “The most atmospheric motor racing venue in the world set in the most beautiful countryside”.
