Andrea Caldarelli will test FIA Formula E in Marrakech. Next month, on January 14th the Italian driver will attend Rookie Test in F.E, after second seasonal round held in Morocco. Andrea was called by Dragon Racing to run in the testing day reserved to driver who have never raced before with the full electric vehicle. Andrea worked before on the LMP1 car by Toyota in the WEC experience, a hybrid car, but this will be the very first time at the wheel of an electric car. After few years as well for Caldarelli, this is a return in an open-wheel car after Super Formula in Japan and GP2 collective test in Abu Dhabi, over two years ago.
“I’m delighted to attend FIA Formula E Rookie Test in Marrakech. I want to thank Jay Penske and all Dragon Racing for the chance to be part of this amazing series. It’s something new for me and I’m very excited to drive an electric car, so far I had the opportunity to race with some hybrid system, but being involved in a full electric vehicle it’s a motivating challenge. Street circuits are something I’ve always appreciate in my career, so Marrakech will be for sure an exciting adventure with one of the most competitive team of the series”.
