Rodriguez Ferrari confirmed for Bahamas Speed Week

Extended Event 1st to 8th December

With the Bahamas Speed Week Revival still four months away, we are delighted with the interest shown in this years event and the entry list is already half full with some very interesting cars.

Top of the shop has to be returning Entrant Andreas Mohringers fabulous Ferrari Dino 206 Prototype.  Andreas brought his unique Ferrari 375MM to Speed Week last year and that car went on to take centre stage at the Cavallino Classic in Florida.  Continuing the theme of beautifully unmolested, unique and attention-grabbing Ferraris, the Dino was entered for Speed Week hot on the heels of its win at Villa dEste.  And its entry form reveals this car is much more than just a pretty face - its provenance including a class win in the last ever Nassau Trophy race in 1966 in the hands of the great Pedro Rodriguez, an incredible 4th overall in the 1967 Targa Florio (an amazing result for a 2 litre car) and top honours in the 1965 European Hillclimb Championship (as a Ferrari works entry) despite missing the first three rounds!

In 1971 this unique little car chassis number 0834 and the only one of its type ever built was parked up in its garage, where it remained, mothballed, for the next 26 years at which point it made its way to the West Coast of the United States where it underwent no more than a thorough service before taking to the road again.  Now in the hands of Andreas, who much prefers to sort rather than restore his cars, the Dino still wears its 1960s era paint and remains completely unmolested and untouched, just as it last raced.  Multiple scrutineering stickers from several Targa Florio races and stints at Imola are still on the windscreen, while the steering column is draped with a variety of scrutineering tags from several additional races.

Bahamas Speed Week Revival Chairman and Event Director David McLaughlin was excited to hear about the Dinos entry We are always delighted when an Entrant enjoys themselves enough with us to want to repeat the experience but to bring us two unique, award-winning, original Speed Week cars two years running is exceptional and we are extremely grateful to Andreas for his support.  Fortunately for us and the world at large, Andreas not only believes in preserving a cars history but also that these very special cars should be both seen and heard! The categories for Speed Week entry are:
