Classy classic collection for Carfest South Auction

An incredible line-up of more than 70 stunning cars, including a smattering of celebrity owned models, will go under the hammer at this years CarFest South Pride & Joy classic car auction.

The sale, hosted by Silverstone Auctions on Sunday 25th August at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire, quickly follows the hugely successful CarFest North auction which raised an incredible 115,651 for BBC Children In Need.

However, not to be outdone, the CarFest South auction has almost double the number of cars up for auction that were offered at its Northern counterpart, and thats not to mention the superb collection of charity lots!

Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions, said: Well be looking to add to the amazing amount already raised for BBC Children in Need this summer with our classic car and charity auction at CarFest South.

And with an incredible line-up of vehicles on offer, Im confident that the auction will be another great success and the perfect opportunity to acquire a classic car that can be cherished for years to come.

Indeed, with more than 70 cars to choose from, it boasts a variety and breadth of models not seen before at our CarFest auctions, whether its a collectable classic or more modern sports car.

Marques represented in the Pride & Joy car auction include some of the best in the world such as Bentley, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lotus and Porsche, with models from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s strongly represented.

Also adding some extra spice are a variety of cars with famous owners including an ex-Roger Daltrey 1981 Mercedes-Benz 280SL, estimated at between 12,000 to 15,000, a 1965 Jaguar E-Type Series I that was first owned by famed 1960s comedian and actor Charlie Drake, estimated at between 40,000 to 45,000, and a 1989 Jaguar XJS, estimated at between 6,000 to 8,000, previously owned by Chris Evans no less and now owned by his esteemed colleague Vassos Alexander.

Not surprisingly, many of the charity lots being offered are connected to four-wheels, whether its a Santa Pod VIP package, a factory visit to Ferrari in Maranello, Aston Martin in Gaydon or the Ariel Motor Company. Theres even a Ferrari cap signed by Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso.

Auction action starts at 11.30am with viewing all day on the Friday and Saturday, so theres plenty of opportunity to see the superb collection of cars up close and in the metal beforehand.

Theres also the opportunity to take part in the action with live on-line bidding or by placing a commission bid with Silverstone Auctions before the event.
