Silverstone Auctions' two unmissable sales at Race Retro‏

Silverstone Auctions are returning to Race Retro this year with not one, but two fantastic auctions with some very special cars on offer.

Taking place at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, they will be hosting a classic road car sale, taking place between Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th February, featuring famous supercars as well as iconic classics and modern sportscars.

For the first time at Race Retro there will be a separate competition car only sale on Friday 26th March, featuring around 30 cars from the race track and rally circuit to choose from.

The highlight of the Classic Road Car Sale has to be astunning 2004 Porsche Carrera GT finished in GT Silver Metallic with a black leather interior.

2004 Porsche CarreraDelivered new on 15th April 2004 by main dealer Champion Porsche of Pompano Beach, Florida, this example left the factory with a superb specification. The car was imported into the UK in 2009 and later purchased by F1 team principal, Gerard Lopez. Our vendor took ownership of this exquisite supercar in September 2013 and immediately sent the car for a full service at Porsche Reading. In 2014, the car was sent to RUF Porsche in Germany and was fitted with a suspension raising system. The last full service was carried out in November 2015 at Porsche Reading. With a recorded mileage of just over 18,000, this car will be offered with an estimate of £400,000 - £450,000.

1974 Datsun 260ZOne of only two Datsun 260Z Super Samuris ever built. This car was laid up for 25 years until being re-discovered in 2010, at which point it was found to be in remarkably original condition. Following a full restoration from the bare shell up, by the well-known marque specialist Z-Farm, this highly sought after genuine Super Samuri will be offered at our auction at an estimate of £35,000 - £45,000.

1990 Mercedes Benz 190 EAnother car not to be missed is the 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II. Number 262 of just 502 ever made, this example was unusually supplied new to the Channel Islands, where it formed part of a significant collection. Presented in superb order and clearly cherished throughout its life, this example has covered only 1,723 miles.

2000 TatuusThe Competition Car Sale offers some unmissable lots for historic motorsport drivers. 1975 FIA Group 2 Ford EscortAlso on offer is a1975 FIA Group 2 Ford Escort BDG Zakspeed Replica, possibly the fastest Group 2 Escort available today. This Escort holds numerous lap records, fastest laps and has been piloted to a number of overall race wins. The car is a Masters Historic Grp2 Championship winner, HSCC Supertourers class winner and finished a very close third in the Spa 6 Hours last year. Estimated at between £60,000 and £70,000, this car comes with full MSA and HTP papers. Having just had a 2016 'turn key' refresh, this proven racer represents a great opportunity, for a realistic budget, to clamber onto the top step of the podium at a number of prestigious Historic Saloon Car events.
