This Lamborghini Countach LP400 S sold for £190k hammer + commission - did not look crazy money compared to some of the recent pre-anniversary Countach transactions?

The record price for the 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II (£260k + Commission!) will make the headlines - surely destined as an "investment" rather than a driver - but the stand out deal for me was the 1962 Jaguar D-Type Longnose by Lynx (£140k + Commission) - a more or less identical driving experience and toolroom copy of a D type - that let's face it is now more or exclusively an ownership proposition for hedge fund owners. The Lynx is pretty much accepted as a car in it's own right these days - imagine the build cost today!
