The second edition of LGHA to take place on 24-25 September 2016 at the historic banked Linas-Montlhéry motor circuit, just 20 miles (33 km) from the centre of Paris, with over 200 historic competition cars and motorcycles in action, including Group B rally cars running into the nightAt the end of the opening night of last year’s inaugural Les Grandes Heures Automobiles (LGHA) - held at the celebrated Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry near Paris - the famous racing drivers gathered together for a commemorative photograph were surprised to see an intruder being manhandled as he attempted to appear in the photo with them.
What the drivers didn’t know was that this scenario had all been planned in advance by the director Jean-Louis Mourey and the LGHA team for a short film, ‘The Photo’.
This three-minute film, produced by LGHA, has now won a prestigious award at WorldFest Houston, the world’s longest-running independent film festival. ‘The Photo’ scooped the Platinum Remi Award, the highest prize in the ‘Fantasy and Horror’ category, in which 64 countries were competing. The award was the seventh won by Jean-Louis Mourey at the event, and a major coup for the LGHA, in its inaugural year!
In the short film, acclaimed lead actor Hervé Queudot – who has sadly since passed away – interrupts the roll call of famous drivers attending the LGHA, including ex-Formula 1 stars Rene Arnoux and Jean-Pierre Jabouille, Le Mans 24 Hours winners Henri Pescarolo, Yannick Dalmas and Jean Guichet, plus Paris-Dakar director Hubert Auriol, the only person to win the event on both two and four wheels.
Many of these famous drivers, plus other notable competitors, are set to appear again at this year’s LGHA at Montlhéry between 24 and 25 September, along with more than 200 competition cars and motorcycles, plus hundreds of other classic vehicles in the extensive car and motorbike clubs area, located within the infield of the steeply banked circuit.
