70 years of British Hill Climb Championship to be celebrated at Shelsley Walsh

The Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb will be celebrating 70 years of the British Hill Climb Championship with past champions and their cars on the 12th and 13th August.

There will be lunchtime parades on both days and Sunday will include a photo shoot of all the champions, their cars and those who built them.

Championship Challenge takes place on the 12th and 13th August with a very special weekend of four Top 12 run offs, two on each day. This will be a first for Shelsley Walsh and be a very exciting weekend of high octane motorsport action.

To celebrate the 70th anniversary fourteen British Hill Climb Champions will be in attendance over the weekend dating back to 1977 with Alister Douglas-Osborn through to current 6 time champion Scott Moran and current championship leader Trevor Willis.

There will be thirteen championship winning cars present, from the Cooper to the Gould though not all able to run but will either be displayed or form part of the parades.

There will be interviews with the drivers throughout the weekend and for those who are able, there will be a parade of cars up the hill with original cars being driven by the original driver in the lunchtime break on both days.

On Sunday there will be a photo shoot in the main paddock of all the championship winning cars with the past champions, including the four manufacturers who built the cars back to 1981.

The Saturday night will see a ticketed party hosted by the BARC, organisers of the British Hill Climb Championship, with music, food and a bar.

This will be a very special weekend of hill climbing at the worlds oldest motor sport venue still on its original course, so all the drivers will have driven in exactly the same wheel tracks regardless of the year they competed!
