First race and first points for Rigon

in FIA GT at Silverstone

On  track at Silverstone Davide Rigon, at the wheel of his Ferrari 430 prepared by the team BMS Scuderia Italia, took part in  his first race season in the FIA GT championship.

The qualifying session which saw Davide Rigon and his companion team Joel Camathias mark the eleventh time due to a misunderstanding,

Davide Rigon made  an excellent start, recovering to sixth place, surpassing Ferrari and Porsche. At  mid-race point Rigon ceded the steering wheel to Camathias for the final stage of the race.

Unfortunately, the BMS Scuderia Italia team decided to mount intermediate Pirelli tyres instead of slick, as the track began to dry out, resulting in  deterioration of  the interim F430.    Joel Camathias took the finish  in seventh position thus gaining the first 2 points .

Davide Rigon"I'm quite satisfied with how the race went. I managed to make a good start surpassing different opponents. I managed to keep a very high pace turning on the timing of the first and this gives me great pleasure, whereas for me was the first race. Unfortunately, when the pit stop the team preferred to mount the intermediate compounds, instead of soft as did all other teams.

"This long has penalized because the track was dried faster than expected. We managed to win anyway two points and the seventh square. Between two weeks we will be at Vallelunga for a test session with Pirelli and then on 18 May we go to Monza for the second stage. Having behind a house as the official Pirelli is really fantastic "
