WTCC comes to Brands ..

Only nine weeks to go until the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) takes over Brands Hatch in July for its annual British rounds and with closer racing than ever, WTCC fans are set for a great racing event. With British drivers Andy Priaulx, the reigning triple champion, and Robert Huff already claiming podiums this season, including Huff’s dominating win at Valencia for Chevrolet, Brands Hatch could be the scene of some incredible home victories! James Thompson is expected to have improved on his solid debut performance in Spain. With three race weekends to go until Brands Hatch, the Harrogate-based driver has plenty of time to get up to speed with his new Honda for his home rounds. The Kent circuit features the only Britain-based WTCC rounds for this year and as last year’s races showed, the unexpected should be expected. After years of bad luck, reigning champion Andy Priaulx finally conquered his ‘Brands Hatch’ curse and won the second race at the wheel of his BMW. Brands Hatch will host the seventh of the 12-round FIA-backed World Touring Car Championship on 26/27 July, with qualifying at the Kent circuit on the Saturday and both races on the Sunday.Tickets are already on sale via the Brands Hatch website with adult admission on Sunday 27 July costing £30 at the gate, but only £24 if you book online at motorsportvision.co.uk, with an online weekend ticket costing £34.
