Geddie stars in Carrera Cup at Croft

Teenager Glynn Geddie was the revelation of rounds nine and ten of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Croft (31 May/1 June) as he twice won the pro-am2 category on hid debut weekend in the championship. The 17-year old racer from Aberdeen was invited to race the PCGB entry in the pro-am2 category for the pair of races at the North Yorkshire track and impressed everyone with his natural ability despite his very limited experience.Having only ever raced a Porsche twice before, Glynn was immediately on the pace and increased his speed throughout the weekend as he learnt to work with the team engineers. "The car is brilliant," he said after qualifying. "It's a lot different to be racing at this level, but I just want to learn as much as I can and try to do the best I can."In the opening race on Saturday, Glynn won his class with a storming drive and then went even better on Sunday when a drying track made conditions tough for the drivers. Having made the right choice to fit slick racing tyres, he stormed through to finish fifth overall and win his class again."It's been a brilliant weekend and we're planning to do more Carrera Cup races this season, including at my home track of Knockhill in August. When not racing, Glynn works with his father, and fellow racer, Jim at Apex Tubulars, an Aberdeen-based oil industry company.
