N.Tech 8th in WTCC test session

N.Technology achieved eighth position overall in their first testing session today at the Circuito do Estoril, Portugal, prior to qualifying for round eleven of the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC).

In damp conditions, driver James Thompson set his best time of 1:48.913 on lap eight with four minutes of track time left on the clock. Thompson put the Honda Accord Euro R Super 2000 as high up as second on the timesheet during the 30-minute session.

The N.Technology team has made steady progress since the last WTCC rounds in Brno, where they achieved a top-eight position. The official WTCC testing session in Monza earlier this month saw Thompson fastest overall with all teams present.

James Thompson, car number 15 "We're in the top eight and that is encouraging. We haven't tested here before unlike some of the other teams, so we are a bit behind. But we will work to further improve the set-up. I last raced here in 2004 for N.Technology so am also refreshing my memory of the circuit. I am hopeful that we can improve on our performance."

Andrea Muller, Team Manager "The session was not so bad; the track was under wet conditions and for the first time at the circuit, it was good. We have to wait and see for the weather tomorrow. But for now we are satisfied."
