WTCC Home rounds for N.Tech driver

N.Technology's James Thompson returns home this weekend for rounds 13 and 14 of the FIA World Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch.

The Harrogate driver knows the Kent track extensively and is firmly hoping his experience, together with support from British fans, will help the N.Technology team to a good result.

"It's a track that can take you by surprise actually," said Thompson. "Some of the corners are a lot faster than you think they are going to be! In any case, it represents one of our best chances for a strong result this year. The home support and the fact that I know the circuit better than most, both help tremendously.

"We're due a good result here, so let's hope this year is the year!"

The team has improved steadily since the beginning of its 2008 racing programme, achieving top eight positions in recent rounds, and hope to capitalise on this weekend's racing at Brands Hatch.

"We may not be contending for the championship but we still have specific targets in mind," said Team Manager Andrea Muller. "We want to be competing in the top eight consistently, before moving on to top three finishes and perhaps a race win.

"James knows this track extremely well and we will be using the confidence he has here to the maximum."
