A1 Team France on NT1

A1GP World Cup of Motorsport and NT1 (digital free to air channel, AB Group) are happy to announce they have signed an agreement for the channel to show all the series’ 2008-09 season races in France. They will be broadcast on the Sunday of each event at about 15.00 with some live and others pre-recorded.

With over 19.6 million viewers every week, NT1 is the TNT network’s third most popular channel.

The 2008-09 A1GP calendar consists of 11 events, the first of which will be in Italy at the Mugello circuit near Florence on 21st September.

Richard Maroko, General Programmes Manager of the AB Group: “NT1 continues to invest in top-level sporting events, such as football and the elimination matches of Italy, Argentina and Brazil for the 2010 World Cup. NT1 is happy to broadcast the A1GP events in France. The high level of this competition organised around national teams is what attracted us in the first place. With AB Motors to complete the package we will be able to bring the full weekend’s racing to motor racing fans. We’re delighted with this agreement and we can’t wait for the first race. Good luck to the French team!”

Richard Dorfman, A1GP Director of Broadcasting: “The 2008-09 season sees A1GP passing an important milestone. Bearing this in mind, we’re very happy and proud to have reached a partnership agreement with one of the most promising channels on the French audiovisual landscape.”

Olivier Panis, sporting director of A1 Team France: “A1 Team France’s aim has always been to reach the highest number of people and count on an increasingly wide fan base. From this season onwards we’re going to boost our visibility, and our aim is to achieve on-track performances worthy of this popular support.”
