Davide Rigon ready for 24h of Spa

A month after his exciting FIA GT race at Oscherleben, Davide Rigon is ready to dive back in the Ferrari F430 GT2 for the fifth race, the 24h of Spa-Francorchamps.

For this event  BMS Scuderia Italia has decided to merge the two crews in a single car: this means that Davide Rigon will split the steering wheel with  team mates Joël Camathias, Matteo Malucelli and Paolo Ruberti.

“It will be my first 24hour race, and on a fantastic track at Spa-Francorchamps. We are determined to put in a good performance, especially as we have been running close to the podium in recent races.

"I will be teamed with Malucelli and Ruberti for the first time.  They have a great deal of experience, from which I can learn a lot.

I have attended testing sessions on the  Belgian circuit, where we have tried different conditions, collecting plenty of information. In addition we have had specific testing sessions with Pirelli and once again we managed to improve the performance, which was already excellent, of our tyres. All this makes me very confident."

The weekend will begin today, Thursday July 31, with two free practice sessions.  Qualifications and warm up (Friday and Saturday).

The start of 24h of Spa-Francorchamps is instead scheduled for 16.00 hours of Saturday, August 2.

After four races  Davide Rigon is sixth in the overall standings with 13 points, only 4 points from the second  BMS Scuderia Italia team (Matteo Malucelli and Paolo Ruberti - 17 points)
