Bikes: Sykes on a charge....

FOR CROFT VICTORY

Following his spectacular second place finish at World Superbikes at Donington Park, Rizla Suzuki's Tom Sykes is now looking to the 10th round of the British Superbike Championship at Croft in North Yorkshire this weekend.

The 2.125-mile circuit saw Sykes storm to his debut British Superbike podium last year and this time round he will be aiming for the top step. This is Sykes's home round and he will be out to impress aboard his Rizla Suzuki and to further consolidate his second place in the Championship.

Double Japanese Superbike Champion Atsushi Watanabe is also on a confidence high following his top-10 finish at Cadwell Park last time out. He has attended a track day at the Yorkshire venue and enjoyed the flowing circuit, his aim for the weekend being another solid top 10 placing.

The new Formula One style qualifying will take place on Saturday 13th September with racing commencing on Sunday 14th at 1315 and race two at 1535.

Jack Valentine - Rizla Suzuki Team Manager:

"The Rizla Suzuki team is on a high at the moment with our strong results at Cadwell and Tom's awesome performance at World Superbikes. I'm looking forward to more of the same this weekend at Croft. Tom is determined to try for a double win to ensure his second place in the Championship.

"Atsu has been there and enjoyed it. He needs a few more laps to get to grips with the fast section out round the back and he did find it very bumpy but that is something we can work on. He has shown what he is capable of by grabbing a decent result at Cadwell which is the most difficult track on the calendar. I think we are on for a good weekend."
