Trident GP2 Monza Preview

Trident Racing will find an electric but friendly atmosphere at Monza. The Italian team will be racing at home in the last round of the GP2 Main Series, living in-touch with its main supporters, in addition to thousands of racing fans. The staff is particularly motivated to take the best out of their talent on such a friendly though legendary environment. A breath of history separates Monza from the other tracks shared with Formula One: the Autodromo Nazionale has always been a true temple of speed, coming to us with just minor modifications from the golden age of racing. Monza and its long straights also require an intense specific preparation.

Trident Racing is eager to try and score a major result in front of the familiar crowd at the end of a long, tough and hard season. The weekend will be starting on Friday with a 30-minute long practice session, starting at 11:55, followed by Qualifying at 16:00. Race 1 will be 32-lap long, starting at 16:00 on Saturday, while 21-lap long Race 2 will be given way on Sunday at 10:30. Satellite channel Sky Sports Italy will be broadcasting all the weekend`s activities live, while terrestrial national station RAI 2 will cover Race 2 too. All times are local.

Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Managing Director

"We`re really excite as we`re getting close to our home Grand Prix, starting at Monza with the final round of the 2008 GP2 Main Series. It will be an emotional occasion for the main stars of the series, fighting to clinch the title, and for all the people that hope for a rebound after the season`s alternating fortunes, or even for people willing to find top-class stage in sight of the 2009 season. Trident Racing will be fielding the regular duo composed by Mike Conway and Ho Pin Tung, with a clear goal of ending up on the podium in one of the two races of the weekend. The target is clearly in our frame, and I hope we`ll be able to reach it with an intelligent and profitable driving by our two drivers, without having to count on casualties and mistakes on our rivals` side. A thought goes to our sponsors and supporters following us from Monza. We`ll do anything possible to provide them with some good vibes".
