de Ferran prepares for Petit Le Mans

De Ferran Motorsports has been preparing over the past few weeks for its longest and biggest race of the season, Petit Le Mans, which takes place October 4.

Even if the beginning of on-track activities for the cornerstone event of the American Le Mans Series is still one week away, the team is already heading to Braselton, GA to take part in a two-day test session at the Road Atlanta track, this weekend, ahead of next week’s race for some final preparations.

Regular drivers of the #66 Panasonic-sponsored Acura ARX-01b, Gil de Ferran and Simon Pagenaud, will be joined by 2008 Indy 500 and IndyCar Series Champion Scott Dixon for the running of the 10-hour race as well as for this weekend’s test at the 2.54-mile, 12-turn road course.

The three de Ferran Motorsports drivers will have plenty of track time to get accustomed to the Road Atlanta layout with seven hours of testing on Saturday, September 27 (9:00 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm) as well as another seven hours on Sunday (8:00 am to 10:00 am and noon to 5:00 pm).

Petit Le Mans, round 11 of the 2008 American Le Mans Series, gets underway Saturday, October 4 at 11:15 am with live television coverage on SPEEDTV starting at 11:00 am.
