Bikes: Warnia wins Weston

ARNIA WINS WESTON

French Suzuki quad star Jeremie Warnia won yesterday's Weston Super Mare Beachrace in the UK, taking his Suzuki LT-R450 to victory ahead of 2007 British and European QX champion John Mitchell on the ATV World YFZ450 Yamaha.

Over 500 riders lined up for the start of the UK's famous beach race for the three hour battle over the three mile course. The lead changed a number of times throughout the race as the top riders pitted for fuel at different times, but Warnia, who finished second to multi- British and Weston champion Paul Winrow last year, timed his stops perfectly to take the win.

Anderson ATV Suzuki's Carl Bunce took third place ahead of two-wheel enduro star David Knight, making his debut on the KTM 505 quad, with Winrow taking his Team Winrow Honda to fifth place ahead of the QUAD Magazine KTM of David Baldwin.
