SOMERSET won the Premier League Knockout Cup with a 14-point aggregate success over Workington.The Rebels, runners-up to King's Lynn in the competition in the last two years, had taken control by winning the first leg at Derwent Park 46-43..They completed the job with a 52-41 home win, Jason Doyle dropping just one point and reserve Brent Werner winning three races.

READING manager Tim Sugar will have the honour of completing the final four laps of the Smallmead circuit on Sunday.Sugar has led the club to nine major honours, and they are now facing a year out of action as their new stadium is built.Sugar said: "We have been blessed with so many fabulous riders here and to be the last man on the circuit will simply be fantastic."
