VIRGIN MEDIA XL SUBSCRIBERS Motors TV, Europe’s only television channel solely dedicated to motorsport, will now be available as part of Virgin Media’s XL TV package to subscribers in the UK.

The ‘High Speed Television’ channel provides viewers with a wide selection of international motorsport coverage, featuring 70 championships worldwide, including disciplines as diverse as motocross, rallying, circuit racing and powerboats. Live coverage includes prestigious series such as the DTM, American Le Mans Series, V8 Supercars, F3 Euroseries and the MX2 Motocross World Championship, while the channel also boasts extensive highlights packages from the World and American (AMA) Superbike Championships, British F3 International Series and the British, Belgian and French GT Championships. Time is also dedicated to grassroots motorsports from the UK and beyond.

Virgin Media, launched in 2007, is the UK’s second-largest provider of pay TV and home phone, the largest residential broadband provider and the largest virtual mobile network operator. The company was formed by the merger of the UK’s two largest cable companies, NTL and Telewest and, previously, only former NTL customers have had access to Motors TV. However, as of 21 October 2008, Motors TV will be available to all Virgin Media XL TV subscribers.

Motors TV Chief Operating Officer Philippe Deleplace said: “We are delighted that Motors TV, present in the UK since 2002, will be available to Virgin Media’s 3.5 million TV customers. This announcement underlines our continued expansion, bringing the best content to legions of motorsport fans throughout Europe.”

Motors TV can be found on Virgin Media channel 545.
