Macau GP comes to Motors TV

Motors TV has secured the rights to screen one of the world’s most prestigious racing events this Autumn when it broadcasts the 55th staging of the Macau Formula Three Grand Prix... and you could be there!

The High Speed Television Channel will be hosting the event on November 16th in a four hour motorsport spectacular that, as well as F3 action, also includes the Motorcycle GP and GT Cup.

It’s a line-up that builds upon Motors TV’s commitment to champion the best in young motorsport talent. The channel’s portfolio of junior categories already boasts Indy Lights, Formula BMW and Palmer Audi as well as the British and Euroseries F3 equivalents which are widely regarded as the most competitive on Earth.

Stars of those latter championships will be in action over the weekend as they take on Asia’s answer to Monte Carlo. Among them, recently crowned British winner Jaime Alguersuari and European champion Nico Hulkenberg, as well as leading home-hopefuls Oliver Turvey and Sam Bird, will be aiming to add their names to the esteemed list of former Macau conquerors that includes Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher and David Coulthard.

The race is run around tight Armco-lined city streets of the South China Sea’s former Portuguese colony. Too narrow for a contemporary Formula One car, drivers will be threading their F3 machinery through the revered urban set-up at speeds in excess of 150mph.

To celebrate this annual automotive gem, Motors TV, in association with the Macau Government and the Daily Mail, is offering two lucky viewers the trip of a lifetime; a pair of weekend tickets to the 55th Macau Grand Prix! It’s a stunning prize that includes passes for all four days of the event, paddock access, grandstand seats on the start/finish straight, flights, five nights accommodation in a top hotel and transfers.

You could be there witnessing the F1 stars of tomorrow battle it out for one of the most prestigious crowns in junior motorsport. Experience the unique atmosphere of Macau where Eastern and European cultures collide in a carnival of colour, noise and, for one weekend a year, the spectacular speed of F3 against the modern metropolis backdrop. To enter, simply log on to motorstv.co.uk and follow the links. It couldn’t be easier.

Those left at home need not worry though. Motors TV (Sky channel 413 and Virgin Media 545) will have action from qualifying on November 15th and the showpiece F3 Grand Prix from 3pm on the 16th.
