GP2 Davide Rigon heads to Jerez

Intense week for Davide Rigon:

While  waiting to take part in the fifth meeting  of the Superleague Formula on the Vallelunga track of Vicenza, Rigon  was called by team Campos, the outgoing champion team, to take part in the day collective test day for the GP2 Main Series on the Spanish track.

Rigon will debut at the wheel of the Dallara GP2 2008 having taking part in a test last winter at  Paul Ricard at the wheel of the first single-seater version - a reward for winning the Italian title and European F.3000.

Rigon set the  9th quickest time of  65 drivers - and was second quickest rookie y. This is a very important  time for as teams are deciding the 2009 line up

In Superleague Rigoni has a pole position, two wins, third place and important places that have launched him up the leaderboard.

Despite his young age bettered  drivers with more experience, the likes of former F1 drivers Robert Doorbons, Antonio Pizzonia and former GP2 Adrian Valles, Borja Garcia, Andy Soucek.

"I am really pleased to be able to return to drive a GP2 car and, above all  with a team as important as  team Campos. For me it will be the first time both on the track in Jerez with the new Dallara 2008, having tested only last winter the first version Dallara as a reward for having won the F3000 championship. It will be a great opportunity to show  my potential and, therefore, I will try to exploit it in the best possible way - I am  ready, as shown in my  Superleague Formula results. "
