Yesterday morning, Dams’ Kobayashi signed the quickest laptime in a 1:24.262 in Jerez

The GP2 paddock carried on with their tests in Jerez today. In perfect track conditions – sunny, dry and  fresh  air  –  the  performance  of  the  GP2/08  car  was  at  its  best  this  morning,  especially  with Kamui  Kobayashi  at  the  wheel  of  his  Dams  as  he  posted  the  quickest  laptime. 

He  was  closely followed by Davide Valsecchi in a 1:24.367 ahead of the competitive Koudai Tsukakoshi on Piquet Sports today. Another impressive rookie was Charles Pic, fourth fastest on ART and ahead of his teammate for the day, and also newcomer, Nico Hulkenberg. Shanghai feature race winner Roldan Rodriguez on the second Piquet car, Luca Filippi on Racing Engineering, Pastor Maldonado on iSport, Jérôme d’Ambrosio on the second Dams car and Diego Nunes on Campos completed the top 10.

Karun Chandhok completed 5 laps this morning before being replaced at the wheel of the FMS car by  Dutch  Carlo  van  Dam.
