N.TECH to test with Speedcar Series

Racing programme expert N.Technology has been invited to test with the Speedcar Series in Dubai this weekend. The Italian company will be running three drivers, including Formula 1 driver Vitantonio Liuzzi.

Force India F1 test driver Liuzzi will add his considerable racing experience to the N.Technology team's expertise. The Italian's career highlights include 39 race starts with F1 teams Red Bull and Scuderia Toro Rosso as well as the 2004 F3000 Championship title, which saw Liuzzi claim a record seven wins.

"I'm very happy and at the same time very curious about taking part in this testing session," said the Italian who triumphed in karting in 2001 with the World Championship Formula Super A title.

"This is a new experience for me with a car I consider very interesting. I had the chance to see for myself how good the series is last year in Bahrain and, together with the team, I believe we can do a very good job in these two days."

The 27-year-old will be testing with the N.Technology team alongside 2008 FIA GT GT1 vice-champion Fabrizio Gollin and World Series by Renault driver Bertrand Baguette.

"First of all, I would like to thank the team for this opportunity. It makes me really proud to test with such an important team as N.Technology," said Baguette. "The testing session will be a real debut for me; first time in Dubai, first time outside Europe and first time in this kind of car! I look forward to get behind the wheel and I feel really confident that I will perform well."

The Speedcar Series, which features established racing drivers such as Gianni Morbidelli, Jean Alesi, Stefan Johansson and Jacques Villeneuve, launched earlier this year with Briton Johnny Herbert claiming the inaugural title.

Running as a winter series, its second season is set to take place from December 2008 to April 2009, with six events partnering Formula 1 and GP2 Asia rounds in Dubai, Sakhir and Sepang.
