WOLVERHAMPTON owner Chris Van Straaten insists clubs cannot break the bank in a bid to keep top Grand Prix riders in British racing.Van Straaten believes the long term future of the sport is more important.He said: "We cannot afford to jeapordise the future of the sport in this country by offering silly money for a small number of top riders. The EliteLeague could go bankrupt by going down that route."

 RICHARD Hall could be in line for a return to his parent club Sheffield.Hall, who won the Elite League with Peterborough two years ago, spent this year on loan to Scunthorpe. Said Tigers co-boss David Hoggart: "There has been a lot of speculation about Richard's position and I can now confirm we have had a chat with the lad and he has asked to be considered for next season."
