Le Mans Series honours the winning Audi teamLMS: The successful Le Mans Series winning squad Audi Sport Team Joest was honoured in a celebratory atmosphere in front of 500 guests on Saturday evening in Paris. Head of Audi Motorsport Dr Wolfgang Ullrich received the trophy for winning the manufacturers’ title in the LMP1 class. The two Audi youngsters Alexandre Prémat (France) and Mike Rockenfeller (Germany) were honoured for winning the drivers’ title. Ralf Jüttner, Audi Sport Team Joest Technical Director, accepted the trophy for the best team in the LMP1 class.Timo Scheider celebrates his first DTM titleDTM: Timo Scheider celebrated winning the DTM title with his team, career companions, friends and his family at a spectacular championship party. Together with approximately 600 guests from various motorsports disciplines the DTM Champion set sail from Bregenz harbour around Lake Constance on the new party-liner "MS Sonnenkönigin". Scheider, who was recently voted by the ADAC to "Motorsport Personality of the Year", presented his mechanics with mountain bikes as a way of thanking them for the support on the way to the title. Dindo Capello beats Valentino RossiLe Mans: Dindo Capello has once again proved that he is also a good rally driver: The Le Mans winner won the Rally di Monza at the wheel of a World Rally Car together with co-driver Luigi Pirollo. The Audi factory driver beat none other that Motor GP World Champion Valentino Rossi in the process.Audi R8 world premiere in EssenGT sport: The GT3 race version of the Audi R8 celebrates its world premiere at the Essen Motor Show (28 November to 7 December). The new GT sportscar is on display on the AUDI AG stand in hall 3. On Friday, 28 November Head of Audi Motorsport Dr Wolfgang Ullrich will present Audi’s plans for the 2009 motorsport season.
