(SPEEDWAY 1)POOLE have signed Daniel Davidsson for the defence of their Elite League title - and young Australian sensation Chris Holder has agreed terms.Davidsson played a major part in the club's magnificent 2008 season and is tipped for a bright future by the club.Pirates chief Matt Ford said: "I'm delighted to have Daniel signed. He seemed to find that extra level of determination to prove himself."(SPEEDWAY 2)GREAT Britain skipper Scott Nicholls is to miss the Elite League season in a bid to cut down his busy racing schedule.Nicholls, who needed a wild-card to secure his Grand Prix place, believes the move will enhance his prospects in next year's championship.He said: "Not doing England will enable me to be in better physical shape, be better prepared and also have a bit more of a normal life."(SPEEDWAY 3)NEWCASTLE have appointed former rider Richard Juul as their new team manager.The move comes as part of a restructuring of the club which sees George English remain as co-promoter.Said Juul: "This is an exciting time for me personally and with new rules in place for 2009 I hope it will also be an equally exciting year for Speedway in general and for Newcastle in particular."
