(SPEEDWAY 1)DOUBLE world champion Jason Crump is the first big name to be confirmed for the Speedway Riders' Benevolent Fund meeting at Sheffield on March 29 (3.30pm).The former Belle Vue man has quit British racing to focus on his world title bid next season but was quick to offer his services for the Owlerton event.Meeting organiser Paul Ackroyd said: "Jason was the first rider to offer his services. It's great news."(SPEEDWAY 2)SHEFFIELD have completed the signing of comeback man Ritchie Hawkins.The Owlerton side have agreed a deal with Hawkins, 25, and his parent club Somerset.Tigers co-promoter David Hoggart said: "Ritchie is fully recovered from his broken thigh which forced him to miss last season and got back on a bike after waiting for the all-clear from the medical people. I'm sure he will do a good job for us."(SPEEDWAY 3)CHRIS Kerr has finally been confirmed as a Newport rider for next season.The American switches from Redcar and will double-up with his parent club Wolverhampton in the Elite League.Wasps co-promoter Nick Mallett said: "My father and I are over the moon to have signed a star of the future on a 6.47 average. We're looking forward to seeing Chris in Newport colours next season."
