Carrera Cup Scholars 2009 plans

2009 Carrera Cup GB Scholars join leading teamsTom Bradshaw and Lewis Hopkins, the winners of the 2009 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Scholarship Programme, have confirmed the teams that they will race with during the coming season. Bradshaw will join Team Parker Racing while Hopkins will race with Red Line Racing.The announcement of this next important step for the two young drivers was made on the Carrera Cup GB stand at Autosport International at the Birmingham NEC on Friday.Success in the Scholarship means that Bradshaw and Hopkins will each receive £50,000 towards racing in the Carrera Cup GB this season and they have now secured places with the two most successful teams in the history of the Carrera Cup GB. Each team has claimed the overall drivers' title three times in the six seasons to date of the Carrera Cup GB.Bradshaw (Blackburn) said: "I've had two tests already with Team Parker Racing and they've got a really good outlook on their racing. There's a very good atmosphere in the team."TPR team boss Stuart Parker has already been impressed by Bradshaw's pace. "I think he'll be very strong and I think he'll be right at the front from the beginning."Meanwhile, Hopkins (Winchester), will join Red Line Racing, the team that has guided Richard Westbrook, James Sutton and Tim Harvey to the title. "Having the experience and knowledge of the team behind me will be very good. We expect to be out testing from mid-February," said Hopkins.RLR's Simon Leonard is pleased to have signed up one of the Scholarship winners. "Lewis greatly impressed Richard Westbrook during the Scholarship evaluation and that's a very strong recommendation. We're looking forward to working with him over the coming season."
