Jordan & Scott mount Mustang challenge

Former BTCC race winner Mike Jordan and seasoned GT racer Stuart Scott will team up to race a Ford Mustang GT4 in the 2009 Britcar Production Championship. With backing from Cambridge Business Travel, the car will be run by JordanSport.co.uk in a full Britcar programme, with Steve Wood joining the driver line-up for the longer races."I'm really enthusiastic about this new programme," said Jordan. "When I called time on my BTCC career, I was always hoping that this type of opportunity would come along. I like the look of the Mustang and I like American cars in general. The Mustang is a car with more power then grip, so it's right up my street."The Mustang has been the car to beat in European GT4 races and Jordan, who will prepare the car under his new team banner of JordanSport.co.uk, believes it will be a competitive Britcar proposition."I've always had a wish to race something American and the Mustang GT4 ticked all the boxes," said Scott. "I had no idea at the time that it was a car that Mike also likes. I spent two or three years with Mike's team with the Porsche 911GT3 and the most productive time I ever spent was at a Snetterton test with just the two of us. I learnt so much from him that day and to have him racing with me this season will be brilliant."The car is already in the UK and is due for a shakedown test in the next two or three weeks.
