Bikes: Hobbs signs for AIM

Dennis Hobbs has signed a deal to ride with AIM Racing in the 2009 British Supersport Championship.Hobbs, who missed out on the 2008 season following a high speed crash at Thruxton in April, is looking forward to competing on a Yamaha R6 during the forthcoming season.

"I'm delighted to have joined Alistair Flanagan's team for 2009. He has given me the perfect opportunity to win the 2009 British Supersport Championship, I can't wait to get back on the bike and back to business.

"In 2007 I just missed out on the title, and in 2008 I had a bad accident which left me needing a nerve transplant. My shoulder is recovering well and I've been training hard to get back to fitness, ready for this season. I had been in talks with my former team, Centurion Racing, about riding for them again this year, however we have both decided to go our own separate ways for 2009. I would like to thank them all for the support they gave me after my accident last year."The Yamaha will be a new bike for me to learn this year, I know this is a winning package as Steve Plater proved for the team in 2008, I've proved I can win races at this level and the championship is only thing we need now."
