Bouchut 2009 LMS programme

Bouchut set for Full Speed Le Mans Series assault

Full Speed Racing has completed the signing of sportscar superstar Christophe Bouchut to drive their Saleen S7R in the Le Mans Series. The team have already announced racing programmes in the LMS, Le Mans 24 Hours and FIA GT Championship for 2009 and have now snapped up one of the world’s top GT racers for a full season attack on the endurance racing series.

Bouchut is a former Le Mans Series and FIA GT champion and the reigning French GT title holder. He is also one of a select band of racers to have achieved the honour of winning the ‘triple crown’ of 24 Hour races at Le Mans, Daytona and Spa.

Having just celebrated his 20th anniversary of racing in top-line motorsport, the Frenchman brings a wealth of experience to the team in 2009.“Christophe is an important signing for Full Speed Racing,” said Team Principal Graham Nash. “There aren’t many, if any, better GT racers out there and he has proved that time and again throughout an illustrious career.

“His experience will be vital to the team and the fact that he has just won the French title driving a Saleen fills us all with confidence ahead of the new season".Bouchut will contest all five LMS races for Full Speed Racing alongside his commitments in Grand Am. The team has also secured his services for the Le Mans 24 Hours, subject to confirmation of an entry from the ACO.

“Christophe was less than one tenth of a second off the GT1 pole position at Le Mans in a privateer Saleen last year,” said Nash. “That was a mightily impressive achievement against the works Aston Martins and Corvettes and it just shows how competitive this car can be at La Sarthe.”Alongside their exciting sporting programme, Full Speed Racing will be supporting FullSpeed2aCure in 2009. The charity, founded by Emerson Newton-John and fully supported by his Aunt and Hollywood star Olivia, hopes to raise money to research for a cure to breast cancer.
