RSS launches Porsche Carrera squad

RSS Performance will field a three-car team in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB this season, with cars for Graeme Mundy, Karl Leonard and John Quartermaine. The Salisbury-based team joined the Carrera Cup for selected races in 2008, and is now mounting a full campaign, with Mundy and Quartermaine running in the pro-am1 category and Leonard challenging for pro-am2 success."It’s been great to fill the three drives we had available in the Carrera Cup," said team manager and former BTCC/ETCC driver Matt Kelly.Mundy made his Carrera Cup debut at Snetterton in July 2008 and was quickly on the pace, taking a pro-am2 victory. He will now step up to the pro-am1 category and is expected to be a leading contender. Meanwhile, Irishman Leonard tackled selected races with the team in the 2008 Carrera Cup and now returns with RSS for a concerted challenge on the pro-am2 category, where he is expected to be one of the pacesetters.Quartermaine also joins the team for a full campaign in the ex-Tony Gilham car, following a run in the VIP car during 2008. "Since driving the guest car at Donington I knew exactly what I wanted to do for 2009," said Quartermaine.
